Eligibility and Access to Participate
Student Eligibility
The Student Experience Office offers career-related support for undergraduate students enrolled in a degree program within the Faculty of Humanities. Non-Humanities students registered in a Combined Honours degree program with a Humanities discipline may participate in career-focused activities upon payment of an administrative fee. The fee is $40.64 for the 2024-25 academic year.
Limiting Student Access to Participate
The Faculty of Humanities reserves the right to limit student access to one or more program activities for a determinant amount of time for reasons including, but not limited to:
- any student action where the reputation of the student, the Faculty of Humanities and/or McMaster University may be compromised;
- any student that terminates/ends the period of internship employment earlier than the date specified in the internship agreement without prior consultation with Humanities Careers and Experience staff;
- any student that breaks the written terms of agreement from any signed contract or agreement with the Faculty of Humanities (e.g., Humanities Internship Program student contracts);
- any situation where a student knowingly submits false, misleading or unauthentic/plagiarized information in an application or document; and
- submission of an application that is incomplete, inaccurate and/or that is deemed unsuitable by Student Experience Office staff.
In the case where a student’s ability to participate in an activity/activities is limited or revoked, the student will be notified in writing.
Students are responsible and/or liable for any fees associated with the completion of programs from which they have been removed based on their own action or conduct as outlined above.
